GOOD MORNING SCOTT,
I'M GOING TO HAVE ERIC HELP W/ SOME OF THE DETAILS, AS WELL.
Darlene, Do you have the lat/long for the wreck?
ERIC, HELP? IT WILL BE AN APPROXIMATION BECASUE WE DON'T WANT TO DISCLOSE EXACT. DUE EAST OF AWASSE FOR ONE HOUR.
Do you have the exact date for the wreck?
I'LL LOOK IN MY LOG BOOK, BUT 2009.
I need the approximate dimentions for the wreck.
WE COULDN'T SEE THE MIDDLE/END. WE FEEL AS LONG AS THE EMMONS, FOR SURE.
The depth the wreck, forcastle and to the sand.
TOP WAS AT 220', COULD NOT FIND FORCASTLE
APPROXIMATE DEPTH TO SAND IS PROBABLY 300'
The conditions of the wreck the vis, currents, waves, surge surf, water temp, air temp, ect.
VIS = 50-80', NO CURRENTS THAT DAY DURING SLACK TIDE,, NO WAVES/SURGE
WATER TEMP WAS 69F (I WORE DRY SUIT, CHUCK WORE WETSUIT - MAYBE 5MM), AIR TEMP WAS 69-75'F BECAUSE IT WAS ALL MORNING.
The name of the wreck, any history to the wreck.
NO NAME AVAILABLE
POSSIBLE HISTORY: POSSIBLY CONVERTED DESTROYER TO SOMETHING BECAUSE THE DECK WAS CLEAN. POSSIBLY SUNK DURING THE WAR. NO RECORD BY THE JAPANESE COAST GUARDS. POSSIBLY ONE OF THREE WRECKS IN THE AREA.
The date the wreck was sunk. Any other information that you would think is helpful.
SCOTT, IF YOU PUT ALL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS VAGUE, IT WOULD SATISFY ME BECAUSE I JUST WANT THERE TO BE A RECORD THAT OUR TEAM DOVE IT.
I'M GOING TO TRY ANOTHER DIVE FEBRUAR/MARCH W/ KONDO-SAN.
DARLENE (5 X-mas Tree Beach) Watch out for crazy rip current!!
